I studied nursing at College of Southern Maryland, dreaming of becoming a labor and delivery nurse (like my grandmother). I always had a fascination with birth and the perinatal experience. My journey as a doula began in 2019, in which I started working under another doula who was my mentor. Work experience

While in college, I started my business, Medicine of Essence, which was formally hosting yoga sessions and selling handcrafted body products. Through hosting yoga sessions I got the pleasure to work with many postpartum mothers and prenatal clients that took my classes to either bring a sense of tranquility to mind and body, or prepare for childbirth.
